Which format should I choose?
- JPG is best for photos and works everywhere. It does not support transparency, so see-through areas get the background color you pick.
- PNG is lossless and keeps transparency. Use it for logos, screenshots and graphics with text.
- WebP makes much smaller files than JPG and PNG and supports transparency. Ideal for websites.
- BMP is an uncompressed format for older software.
- ICO is the icon format used for website favicons and Windows icons. The file contains 16, 32, 48, 64, 128 and 256 pixel sizes.
